This is a high-impact leadership role focused on redefining how merchandising drives growth across Lenskart's retail network. You will be responsible for building a consumer-backward, data-led merchandising engine that ensures every store carries the right assortment for its unique customer cohort.
As Lenskart continues to scale across geographies and formats, merchandising must evolve from a centralized assortment function into a dynamic, hyperlocal growth lever. Your mission is to create systems, frameworks, and operating rhythms that connect consumer insights, store catchments, and product selection to drive higher conversion, stronger same-store sales growth, and a superior customer experience.

1. Hyperlocal Merchandising Strategy (The Consumer Focus)
Consumer-Backwards Assortment Design:
Build and continuously refine store-level assortments based on local consumer preferences, demographics, and buying behavior to maximize relevance and sales productivity.
Catchment Intelligence:
Develop a deep understanding of store catchments, consumer cohorts, and product performance trends to drive localized merchandising decisions.
Assortment Architecture:
Define the optimal brand mix, category mix, and SKU mix across existing and new stores to maximize revenue, conversion, and inventory productivity.
Merchandising Relevance Engine:
Ensure product selections remain aligned with evolving consumer demand, local market trends, and business priorities.
2. Data-Driven Growth & Revenue Impact (The Business Focus)
Same-Store Sales Growth Ownership:
Drive measurable improvements in store productivity through intelligent assortment planning and merchandising interventions.
Analytics-Led Decision Making:
Leverage data to identify growth opportunities, uncover consumer insights, and optimize merchandising performance across the retail network.
Store Performance Optimization:
Monitor category-level and SKU-level performance to improve assortment productivity, conversion, and sell-through.
Scalable Merchandising Frameworks:
Build repeatable processes and decision-making frameworks that enable merchandising excellence as the business scales.
3. Technology, AI & Cross-Functional Leadership
AI-First Merchandising Mindset:

The Essentials:
Experience:
8-12+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, retail planning, growth, or related functions, with significant leadership responsibility.
Retail & Consumer Understanding:
Strong understanding of consumer behavior, assortment planning, and retail economics.
Data & Analytics Expertise:
Highly proficient in using data to drive business decisions, identify opportunities, and measure outcomes.
Technology & AI Orientation:
Comfortable working with modern technology platforms and leveraging AI-driven tools to improve business performance.
Stakeholder Management:
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across functions.
People Leadership:
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
Education:
