Job Overview
As a Host/Hostess, you are the first and last point of contact for our restaurant guests. You will greet guests warmly, manage the seating flow, and ensure each dining experience begins with attentive and professional service.

Duties and Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously; seat guests while ensuring fair distribution of tables among servers.

Maintain and manage a waiting list during busy periods; notify guests when their table is ready.

Assist the Manager or Supervisor with opening duties, such as assigning server stations and retrieving daily specials.

Process take-out orders and assist with room service phone calls as needed; apply suggestive selling techniques.

Handle guest payments, process transactions accurately, issue change, and balance the cash drawer at the end of the shift.

Assist with cleaning and resetting tables when necessary to support bus staff.

Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests; follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.

Maintain a professional appearance and follow all company and Marriott brand standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience: 6 months of cash handling or food service experience preferred.

Education: Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.

Skills: Strong communication, customer service, and attention to detail.

Certificates: Food handler’s permit and/or alcohol awareness certification may be required based on local regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Able to remain stationary for extended periods

Comfortable moving throughout the restaurant and handling trays, plates, and other items

Capable of bending, stooping, and kneeling as needed
