In the role of Responsible Investment Associate you will undertake in-depth research, gather evidence and assess how a range of RI thematics are material to investments across all asset classes. You will identify, source, combine, analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative RI data and metrics using Excel, PowerBI, Tableau or similar and prepare, monitor and report data sets.


We are seeking two team members to each, respectively, support the implementation of key aspects of HESTA’s Responsible Investment program:

Active Ownership - through planning and attending engagement meetings with company CEOs and Board Members etc and support the proxy voting process for Australian and International Equities including development of voting recommendations for high priority votes and/or
Responsible Investment Integration – support the Portfolio Management team through asset RI Due Diligence and aspects of Fund Manager due diligence, appointment and monitoring. Implementing RI exclusions approach to meet member expectations, HESTA commitments and regulatory requirements.

About You

You will be a Responsible Investment generalist with intermediate knowledge of investments, economic, political and financial systems. Key technical knowledge required includes Responsible Investment issues and how they translate to risks and opportunities for companies and investors. Also, strong knowledge and application of data analysis tools and qualitative research.


You will be able to demonstrate versatility, adaptability, project management and communication skills. Key to success in this role is experience delivering strategic implementation plans and engaging and communicating with a variety of audiences.


Your previous positions could include responsible investment, policy, international relations, macro economics, researcher, investment analyst.
