Job Overview

Reporting to the Supervisor, as a Residential Sheet Metal Technician, you will provide services throughout all stages of the building process.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Participating in activities at all stages of building lifecycle and ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Installing the entire HVAC systems, including sheet metal returns, ducting, furnaces, and HRV’s.
Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, drawings and other specifications to comprehend the project requirements prior to commencing work.
Measuring and laying out reference points for installation in an accurate manner.
Verifying and preparing accurate material types and quantities for each project.
Working safely and complying with the company’s Safety Program and safety regulations.

Requirements

All levels! Seeking 1st to 4th year apprentices to Journeypersons, including Journeypersons with Project Management Skills.
High school Diploma, or equivalent.
Prior experience in installations and repairs in either the commercial or residential construction industry is an asset.
Valid driver’s licence and clean drivers’ abstract
Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions

You primarily work on site during regular business hours (Monday to Friday), dispatched from the Star Mechanical location. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Physical work pace and/or exertion brings on a limited amount of physical fatigue. Overtime may occasionally be required.
