Renewals Engineer (Marlborough)
Job Description
We are looking for a Renewals Engineer to join our Wairau Gateway team in Blenheim. This is a great opportunity for a graduate civil engineer or an engineer with up to five years’ relevant experience who is looking to build a career in civil engineering, road maintenance and infrastructure renewals.
Reporting to the Quality & Renewals Manager, you will support the successful planning, procurement, quality assurance, delivery and close-out of renewals works across the Marlborough roading network. The role will provide engineering and quality support across pavement renewals, including asphaltic concrete, chipseal and Area Wide Pavement Treatments.
About the role
In this role, you will help ensure renewals works are delivered safely, to specification, within budget, and in line with contractual, quality and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and maintaining Inspection and Test Plans, Renewal Quality Plans and quality records
Supporting tendering, procurement and contractor coordination for renewal works
Assisting site teams with planning, delivery, inspections and compliance checks
Preparing Post Construction Reports and supporting project close-out documentation
Monitoring compliance with specifications, standards and quality requirements
Supporting monthly measurement, claims and cost tracking processes
Helping ensure HSQE and Temporary Traffic Management requirements are planned, implemented and maintained
Building strong working relationships with operational teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and client representatives
About you
You will bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a busy civil infrastructure environment.
We are looking for someone with:
A Civil Engineering Diploma, Civil Engineering Degree, or equivalent recognised qualification
A full New Zealand Driver Licence
Graduate civil engineering experience, or up to five years’ relevant civil engineering experience
An understanding of civil construction and infrastructure delivery principles
The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contract documents
Strong written communication and report-writing skills
Good Microsoft Office skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Experience in road maintenance, renewals, pavements, quality systems, temporary traffic management, procurement or working with contractors and subcontractors would be an advantage, but is not essential.
