About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Release Engineer to manage software releases, deployment automation, and CI/CD processes. The ideal candidate should have experience with Git, build automation, release management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure smooth, reliable, and timely software releases.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Manage source code repositories using Git and implement branching strategies.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure successful application deployments.
• Monitor deployment activities and troubleshoot release-related issues.
• Automate release and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain release documentation, deployment procedures, and version history.
• Ensure rollback strategies and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
• Participate in change management and release planning meetings.
• Continuously improve release processes and deployment automation.

Required Skills
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
• Hands-on experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Understanding of software release management and deployment best practices.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of scripting using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or npm.
• Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
• Experience with artifact repositories like Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.
• Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD pipelines.

Educational Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in DevOps, Cloud, Git, or CI/CD technologies are an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile
