About the role
The Registrar/ Principal House Officer (PHO) provides medical services under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective and equitable to consumers within a public health setting. Registrar/ PHOs are expected to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Australian Medical Board requirements in order to practice as a specialist. This program has strong links with the University of Queensland, Ipswich Clinical School.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

* Knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness.
* Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organisational skills including the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education including development and maintenance of personal knowledge and skills.
* Understanding of and commitment to mental health recovery model of care, evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes.
* Knowledge (or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge) of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services.

Mandatory Requirements:

* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
