Permanent, Full-time 80 hours per fortnight (1 FTE)

About the Role
As our Regional Co-ordinator, Maternal Mental Health, you will champion the development, implementation and evaluation of maternal mental health services across the Central Region. You'll be responsible for connecting Te Whatu Ora with the broader maternal mental health sector – including NGOs, community services, and primary care – while leading regional programmes that improve health equity for Māori, Pacific peoples, and all whānau.
This is an influential, strategic role offering the opportunity to shape future-focused care by leading system improvement, coordinating region-wide education, and driving innovation based on data and community need.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Mental Health and Addictions team is passionate about delivering holistic, whānau-centred care and achieving Pae Ora | Healthy Futures. You’ll work closely with a wide range of clinical and community stakeholders, supported by an experienced, values-driven team dedicated to equity and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
Experience in mental health and a sound understanding of maternal mental health and its wider impact.
Confidence in regional leadership, service development, and building cross-sector relationships.
Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and demonstrated cultural competence, particularly in delivering equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples.
Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
Desirable attributes include experience in maternal mental health and knowledge of child development, perinatal research and best practices.
