Real Estate Video Editor Needed — Strong Color Grading & 24-Hour Turnaround
Job Description
Real Estate Video Editor Needed — Strong Color Grading & 24-Hour Turnaround
I own a growing real estate photography company in Wisconsin and am looking for a video editor I can continue using as the video side of my business grows
I currently outsource my editing, but I am not impressed with the color grading or overall editing style I am getting
To be blunt, I do not need someone to apply one LUT to the entire project, speed ramp every clip, and add a zoom blur transition every few seconds
My biggest priority is someone who can actually color correct and grade footage clip by clip
I need someone who understands how to properly normalize footage, correct white balance and exposure, match individual shots, and keep color consistent between rooms and between Sony and DJI footage
Smooth, clean, cinematic real estate videos
The music should support the property video, not turn it into a frantic edit
I do expect an editor to have enough judgment to stabilize a clip when appropriate, use the strongest section of a clip, make a subtle crop or speed adjustment, or simply leave a bad clip out
However, I want to find one editor I can consistently use whenever I have a video project instead of changing editors every job
I am intentionally using the same clips for each applicant so I can fairly compare editing style, color work, pacing, and creative judgment
Shot-to-shot color matching
Sony and DJI color consistency
Benefits
My target budget for regular projects is $50–$75 USD per standard video, depending on the project and quality of the finished work
My video volume is not currently guaranteed every week or month
The test budget is $50 flat
Responsibilities
I shoot primarily on a Sony A7 IV and DJI Air 3S, including Log footage
White cabinets should look white
Natural pacing that lets strong shots breathe
Clean cuts and subtle speed ramps when they actually improve a shot
Creative transitions when there is a natural opportunity
Masking or transitions using doorways, walls, foreground objects, and existing camera movement
Music that actually fits the property and style of the video
Editing to the music without forcing a cut or speed ramp on every beat
Using the music to help build the pacing and flow of the video naturally
I am not against speed ramps or creative transitions
I also do not want every clip shortened or speed-ramped simply to hit every beat in the song
My footage will normally be uploaded in one folder and may not be organized in exact room-by-room order
I need an editor who can review the footage, identify rooms and property features, select the strongest clips, and build a logical property tour
I am also still improving my video shooting skills, so not every clip will be perfect
Some footage may have minor gimbal shake, rough starts or endings, exposure differences, or repetitive movements
I do not expect unusable footage to be magically repaired
Typical finished videos are approximately 60–90 seconds
24-hour turnaround is required for standard property videos
I plan to select up to three editors for the same paid test project
Each editor will receive the exact same footage from a previously completed property and will have 24 hours to create a roughly 60-second real estate video
Actual clip-by-clip color correction and grading
Clip selection
Property sequencing and flow
Music selection and music-driven pacing
Overall finished style

Real Estate Video Editor Needed — Strong Color Grading & 24-Hour Turnaround
I own a growing real estate photography company in Wisconsin and am looking for a video editor I can continue using as the video side of my business grows.
I currently outsource my editing, but I am not impressed with the color grading or overall editing style I am getting.
To be blunt, I do not need someone to apply one LUT to the entire project, speed ramp every clip, and add a zoom blur transition every few seconds. I can do that myself.
My biggest priority is someone who can actually color correct and grade footage clip by clip.
I shoot primarily on a Sony A7 IV and DJI Air 3S, including Log footage. I need someone who understands how to properly normalize footage, correct white balance and exposure, match individual shots, and keep color consistent between rooms and between Sony and DJI footage.
White cabinets should look white. One room should not be yellow and the next room blue or gray.
Editing style I am looking for:
• Smooth, clean, cinematic real estate videos
• Natural pacing that lets strong shots breathe
• Clean cuts and subtle speed ramps when they actually improve a shot
• Creative transitions when there is a natural opportunity
• Masking or transitions using doorways, walls, foreground objects, and existing camera movement
• Music that actually fits the property and style of the video
• Editing to the music without forcing a cut or speed ramp on every beat
• Using the music to help build the pacing and flow of the video naturally
I am not against speed ramps or creative transitions.
I just do not want them used nonstop throughout the entire video.
The same applies to zoom blur, whip, and spin transitions. If every transition is creative, none of them are.
I also do not want every clip shortened or speed-ramped simply to hit every beat in the song. The music should support the property video, not turn it into a frantic edit.
My footage will normally be uploaded in one folder and may not be organized in exact room-by-room order.
I need an editor who can review the footage, identify rooms and property features, select the strongest clips, and build a logical property tour.
I am also still improving my video shooting skills, so not every clip will be perfect. Some footage may have minor gimbal shake, rough starts or endings, exposure differences, or repetitive movements.
I do not expect unusable footage to be magically repaired.
I do expect an editor to have enough judgment to stabilize a clip when appropriate, use the strongest section of a clip, make a subtle crop or speed adjustment, or simply leave a bad clip out.
Typical finished videos are approximately 60–90 seconds.
24-hour turnaround is required for standard property videos.
My target budget for regular projects is $50–$75 USD per standard video, depending on the project and quality of the finished work.
My video volume is not currently guaranteed every week or month. I am still growing this side of my business. However, I want to find one editor I can consistently use whenever I have a video project instead of changing editors every job.
Paid Test Project
I plan to select up to three editors for the same paid test project.
Each editor will receive the exact same footage from a previously completed property and will have 24 hours to create a roughly 60-second real estate video.
The test budget is $50 flat.
The footage has already been used for another completed edit. I am intentionally using the same clips for each applicant so I can fairly compare editing style, color work, pacing, and creative judgment.
The test is primarily to determine whether we are a good fit for future projects.
I will mainly be comparing:
• Actual clip-by-clip color correction and grading
• Shot-to-shot color matching
• Sony and DJI color consistency
• Clip selection
• Property sequencing and flow
• Music selection and music-driven pacing
• Transition quality
• Overall finished style
To apply, send me links to your TWO best completed real estate/property videos.
Please do not send me a general showreel.
Also answer:
1. What editing software do you use?
2. How do you color match Sony Log and DJI Log footage?
3. Do you grade and match individual clips or primarily use LUTs/presets?
4. Can you consistently provide 24-hour turnaround?
5. Will you personally complete my edits?
6. Are you comfortable with a $50–$75 budget for a standard 60–90 second property video?
Please start your application with the word RED so I know you actually read the full post.
