Who You Are:
Our team is seeking an experienced and creative Minecraft Video Editor for React style content. You will be responsible for creating engaging and intriguing videos that keep our audience hooked; with content that is relevant and up to date with the latest trends in the Minecraft and broader social media and pop culture community.
Your Responsibilities and Skills:
Editing Style Mimicry: Ability to mimic existing Reacts editing styles and innovate techniques.
Team Collaboration: Applying feedback from the team to optimise video retention, and offering insights into areas of improvement.
Cuts, Flow, and Tempo Mastery: A firm understanding of cuts, flow, and variation in tempo to retain viewer engagement. A keen eye for detail, minimising “Dead Space” in reaction segments. Particular focus on the first 30s of a video, ensuring seamless transition into unfolding content.
Music Utilization: Utilizing music effectively, and understanding the use of different genres/BPM (beats per minute) to match visual pacing. Seamless transitioning between music and balancing audio levels to ensure optimal viewing experiences across PC, mobile and TV platforms.
Analytic Outlook: Understanding what causes a video to overindex and perform below typical based on editing technique, following feedback to align New and Returning Viewer retention.
SFX Implementation: Capable of effectively utilizing sound effects (SFX), knowing when and where to integrate these for narrative impact and comedic effect.
Visual Effects Integration: Employing supportive VFX to elevate quality and exaggerate key emotions from Talent. Overlaying facecam with an awareness of clarity, ensuring equal focus on talent and source footage.
Time Management: Managing time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality videos, while applying feedback on drafts.
Communication: Ensuring top level communication is maintained, utilizing tools such as Monday.com and Discord to collaborate with the team.
Creative Flair: Staying up to date with the latest trends in the Reacts and wider YouTube community, as well as current culture references. Not being afraid to ask questions where uncertainty arises and striving to refine your skillset.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in video editing.
Proficiency in utilizing YouTube Analytics and key metrics such as Average View Duration (AVD), Click-Through Rate (CTR), AVD in the first 30 seconds, and Impressions, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding.
Skillful use of both Sound Effects (SFX) and Visual Effects (VFX) to enhance video quality and storytelling.
Exceptional communication skills and proactive engagement within team dynamics.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro for seamless editing workflows.
Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines and navigate project timelines effectively.
Demonstrated capacity to incorporate feedback constructively and adapt editing approaches accordingly.
In-depth knowledge of social media and pop-culture trends, ideally with a focus on the Reacts/Gaming community.
Expertise in applying Look-Up Tables (LUTs) and Color Correction techniques to enhance visual aesthetics.
Preferably, experience in timecode syncing for precise editing synchronization.
