Undergraduate Research Assistant - Hoerndli Lab in the Department of Biomedical Sciences
Job Description
Self-motivated, detail oriented, organized student employee versed in experimental note taking, basic wet lab, skills, demonstrating verbal and written communications skills.
May work up to 20 hours/week.
The position is temporary until the end of the spring semester of 2027, but can be renewed for academic year 2027-28.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Making agar plates 1-2 twice a week.
Spread of OP50 E. coli 1-2 twice per week.
Making basic solutions in the lab such as LB broth and C. elegans solutions.
Required Skills
pH measurements, and concentration measurements.
Semi-sterile handling of solutions and reagents.
Lab notebook keeping.
Preferred Skills
Pipette, serological pipette use.
Microbalance weighing.
Prior knowledge of C.elegans lab work protocols preferred.

Hourly pay rate: $16.00 per hour
