QuickBooks Accountant (QuickBooks Online & Desktop)
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QuickBooks Accountant to join our growing team supporting Canada-based clients. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with both QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop and be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping, financial record maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting for multiple clients.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Prepare and process customer invoices and vendor bills.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
Maintain General Ledger and Chart of Accounts.
Process journal entries and account adjustments.
Assist with payroll entries and payroll reconciliations.
Prepare GST/HST reports and assist with Canadian tax-related bookkeeping requirements.
Import and export accounting data between systems where required.
Identify and resolve bookkeeping discrepancies.
Support external accountants during audits and year-end tax preparation.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 25 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop (Pro, Premier, or Enterprise).
Excellent understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Experience with bank reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll, and journal entries.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Canadian clients.
Knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping standards and GST/HST.
QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification is an advantage.
Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
