Pay & Overtime

0–12 months experience
• £16.06 – £20.00 per hour

12 months–3 years' experience
• £16.41 – £20.51 per hour

3+ years' experience
• £17.66 – £22.07 per hour

Already experienced?
If you've held a PCV licence and worked as a bus driver for at least 12 months within the last 4 years, you'll join on our 2nd–3rd year pay rate.
You'll also receive:
• Sign-on to sign-off pay
• Premium rates after 9pm
• Weekend enhancements
• Overtime paid for all hours worked above your contracted hours

Working Pattern

You'll work a rotating pattern of 5 days on, 2 days off, with shifts planned 6–8 weeks in advance, helping you plan your life outside of work.

Typical shift start times include:
• 🌅 Mornings from 4:00am
• ☀️ Afternoons from 12:00pm
• 🌙 Evenings from 6:00pm

Regular overtime is available, depending on business needs.

Please note: Fixed shifts (such as permanent mornings or evenings) are not available.
What You'll Need

To join Arriva London you'll need:
• A valid PCV Category D licence
• To be aged 18 or over
• No more than 6 penalty points
• A current Licence for London, if you've worked for another London bus operator within the last six months
• To pass a drug and ******* screening
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
