K-Bin has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Lab Technician at our Freeport, TX location!
Primary Function
The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician supports the Quality Standards of K-Bin by utilizing methods and procedures to analyze samples obtained during the PVC compounding process to determine compliance and/or corrective measure recommendations.
Duties Responsibilities
This position may require any of the following functions:
• Operate within a Quality Management System to ensure uniformity, consistency, reliability, reproducibility, quality and product integrity.
• Retrieve samples during specified production processes.
• Perform sample analysis of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Compounds using lab equipment and instruments.
• Update analytical data recording and reporting per sample analysis.
• Troubleshoot out-of-specification samples and instrumentation failures, keeping the Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor and Lead Lab Technicians updated of any deviations.
• Report sample analysis results to Production and other Stakeholders.
• Provide approval for final product shipment of in-specification products.
• Practice OSHA Safety Standards and K-Bin Procedures for identifying and mitigating safety concerns.
• Report environmental incidents and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Dispose of waste materials and chemicals according to industry standards and K-Bin/Shintech protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
An Associate of Applied Science degree in Chemical Technology, Chemistry, or related technical program and a minimum of 6 months experience as a laboratory technician is required. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Required to work a 12 hour rotating shift including nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
Physical Requirements
• Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Climb stairs/ladders and work at heights.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Bend, stoop, and reach.
Work Environment
• PVC compounding facility, in presence of chemicals.
• Moderate noise-level and environmental vibrations related to equipment.
• Work is performed equally outdoors in non-climate controlled environment and indoors in a climate-controlled lab.
