QA Engineer - App Tester
Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer – EV Connectivity & OTA to lead validation and integration activities for our connected electric vehicle ecosystem. This role combines hands-on testing of mobile applications, OTA updates, cloud connectivity, and in-vehicle communication systems.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in automotive diagnostics, mobile app validation, cloud messaging systems, and EV integration workflows. You will work closely with firmware, cloud, infotainment, battery, and power electronics teams to ensure seamless vehicle connectivity and software reliability.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Testing Ownership
Analyze product requirements and design, document, and execute comprehensive test plans.
Validate Mobile Applications (Android/iOS), vehicle connectivity features, and OTA software update cycles.
Perform functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
Bug Reporting & Root Cause Analysis
Create and maintain standardized bug reporting templates with detailed technical evidence.
Deliver high-quality defect reports including: Clear reproduction steps, Expected vs Actual behavior, Logs and trace evidence, Root cause observations, Log Collection & Diagnostics
Collect and analyze logs from multiple system layers:
Mobile Logs
Android ADB Logcat
iOS Console/Sysdiagnose
Network & API Logs
HTTPS/API traffic captures
Charles Proxy
Postman
Vehicle Diagnostics
CAN/CAN-FD traces
UDS diagnostics
Vector CANoe/CANalyzer tools
Cloud & IoT Monitoring
MQTT broker monitoring
Kafka topic verification
Message flow validation between App, Cloud, and Vehicle
Regression Testing
Maintain and execute robust regression test suites for: Mobile app releases, OTA packages, Vehicle feature updates
Ensure new software versions do not impact existing vehicle functionality.
Electrical Integration & Project Development
Cross-Functional Coordination
Act as the QA and integration liaison between:
o Power Electronics
o Battery Management Systems (BMS)
o Infotainment
o Embedded Firmware Teams
o Cloud Connectivity Teams
Linux-Based Debugging
Access and troubleshoot vehicle gateways and embedded systems using Linux environments.
Debug connectivity stacks, internal logs, and communication failures.
Issue Lifecycle Management
Track defects from discovery to closure.
Coordinate with development teams for root cause analysis, validation, and verification of fixes on actual vehicles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
3+ years of experience in Mobile App Testing with hardware-software integration.
Strong expertise in:
o UDS (ISO 14229)
o CAN/CAN-FD protocols
o Automotive diagnostics
Hands-on experience with:
o Vector CANoe / CANalyzer
o Linux command-line environments
o MQTT and Kafka
Experience with API validation and network debugging tools.
Understanding of OTA workflows and connected vehicle architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in EV Project Development, Validation, or Vehicle Integration.
Familiarity with embedded systems and automotive communication stacks.
Experience working with connected vehicle platforms or IoT ecosystems.
Behavioral Competencies

Strong analytical and debugging mindset.
Ability to produce clear, evidence-backed defect reports with minimal ambiguity.
Comfortable working in fast-paced cross-functional engineering environments.
