The Opportunity

Delaware North Australia is hiring a Purchasing Manager to join our team at our Lizard Island Resort. As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for resort purchasing and the cost-effective negotiation of all goods and services received by the resort. This includes the receival of all invoices, month end processes and stock take.

What you will do?

Liaise with procurement and general resort management to ensure best possible purchasing strategies are achieved and maintained
Negotiate cost effective purchases for all resort goods and services
Accurately calculate cost ratios such as cost of sales (COS), stock turnover, values, purchase order requisitions for all items of stock purchased by you
Minimise expenditure and maximise operating profits
Provide valid and correct information from data to assist Head of Departments in cost control decision making
Develop and establish sound, productive and professional relationships with new and potential suppliers
Issue Stock take schedules at relevant times to all relevant department heads
Conduct monthly stock takes of all items in the main beverage store and staff shop
Ensure all goods and services are ordered via the purchase order system
Review and check all invoices relevant to your purchase orders and ensure that they are properly coded, and entered into the inventory system
More about you

Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, ideally in a resort or hospitality setting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to calculate and interpret cost ratios and stock turnover.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and cost control software.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
