Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $20–$27/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm (30-min unpaid lunch)
Overtime: As needed
Location: Port of Everett – In Person

Position Summary
PSC Marine is hiring a hard-working, Bottom Painter to join our yard crew. This is physically demanding outdoor (sun, rain, snow) work involving sanding, grinding, masking, painting, and supporting daily boatyard operations.
This role is for someone who can work on their feet all day, handle power tools safely, and take pride in clean, sharp, professional bottom work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Bottom Prep & Coatings
- Tent Boats
- Sand hulls using electric sanders and DA sanders
- Grind and prep underwater surfaces
- Apply antifouling coatings by roller (spray if qualified)
- Mask clean waterlines, shafts, through-hulls, and intakes
- Mix, handle, and apply marine coatings according to spec
- Change zincs, clean transducers, prep props
Environmental & Safety
- Maintain clean, contained work areas per BYGP rules
- Properly handle dust, debris, and paint waste
- Wear PPE and follow safety procedures
What This Job Requires
- Willing to go through a background check
- Willing to go through a drug test
- Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
- Ability to have hands above head
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round (rain, cold, heat)
- Ability to work under boats, on ladders, and around heavy equipment
- Strong work ethic and willingness to hustle
- Ability to follow direction and stay on task
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Previous bottom painting or boatyard experience
- Knowledge of antifouling systems (ablative, hard, hybrid)
- Familiarity with marine sanding, grinding, and masking
- Ability to spot hull issues like osmosis, gelcoat blisters, and corrosion

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
