We're looking for an experienced Property Acquisition Officer to join our Economy, Business & Workforce Directorate and play a key role in delivering Council's land acquisition and property programs. Working alongside a supportive and knowledgeable Property Team, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of acquisitions, disposals, road closures and other property transactions that directly support the growth and development of our city.

What we will offer you:
Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week).
Remuneration of $3,897.06 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,676.47 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

Your new role:
In this varied role you will:
Lead and coordinate Council's land acquisitions, disposals and compulsory acquisitions to facilitate the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
Manage property transactions from initial planning through to settlement.
Coordinate and review road closure processes and property-related legal documentation.
Work closely with surveyors, valuers, solicitors, real estate agents and government agencies.
Engage and negotiate with landowners and other stakeholders throughout the acquisition process.
Contribute to strategic property planning, policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with the management of Council's property registers and Crown Land matters.
No two days are the same, with opportunities to work across major infrastructure projects, community facilities, transport corridors and strategic land initiatives.
What we’re looking for:
You'll be someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building productive relationships and delivering outcomes that balance community needs with legislative requirements.
To be successful, you'll bring:
Qualifications in a property-related discipline such as law, land economy or valuation.
Experience in property, legal, valuation or property management environments.
Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to local government property transactions.
