• Job Type: Contract Opportunity. Initial contract for 6 months, with good possibilities of further extensions.
• Job Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
• Work Style: Hybrid work - 3 days per week in the office preferred.
• Remote Work Options: Can work remotely from within Canada, must be open to in-office meetings or site-based requirements when requested.
• Work Hours: 40 hours/week, typically Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Rate Cap: The final compensation will be negotiated between the contractor and recruiter based on experience and engagement terms.

Position Overview:
• Our client, Energy domain, is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead a Maximo (MM) initiative supporting maintenance, asset integrity, and materials management across its oil and gas operations. This role will drive the delivery of a critical program focused on optimizing reliability, turnaround planning, and inventory control within a highly regulated, asset-intensive environment.
• The successful candidate will bring deep experience delivering EAM or SAP MM projects within upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas, with a strong understanding of field operations, maintenance workflows, and supply chain integration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end delivery of IBM Maximo Maintenance Management (MM) aligned to oil and gas operational requirements (maintenance, reliability, inventory, and procurement)
• Develop and manage integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts
• Partner with operations, maintenance, reliability engineering, supply chain, and IT teams to ensure solution alignment with field and plant needs
• Oversee system configuration and integration with enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, finance, and logistics systems)
• Drive governance, including risk, issue, and change management in a safety-critical environment
• Support turnaround and maintenance planning processes through effective system enablement
• Coordinate testing (SIT/UAT), cutover planning, and deployment across operational sites
• Manage third-party vendors and system integrators to ensure delivery quality and accountability
• Deliver clear, concise reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders
Key Qualifications and Skillset for this Role:
• 8+ years of project management experience in oil and gas or heavy industrial environments
• Proven delivery experience with IBM Maximo and/or SAP MM (Materials Management)
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, maintenance execution, and inventory optimization in oil and gas
• Experience supporting refinery, terminal, pipeline, or upstream operations
• Demonstrated success managing complex integrations across EAM, ERP, and operational systems
• Familiarity with safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements in oil and gas
• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong operational acumen within oil and gas environments
• Ability to bridge field operations and enterprise technology
• Decisive leadership with a focus on safety, reliability, and delivery
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences
• Structured, disciplined approach to execution in complex environments
