About our group | Mo te ropu

The Corporate Services Group works in close partnership with the wider business to lead, support, and enable the EPA to achieve its strategic intentions and effectively and efficiently deliver its core functions.

There are four key functions within the Corporate Services Group. These are:

Information Management and Technology

This function leads, maintains, and supports the EPA's IT and information management services, implements new hardware and software, assists staff with IT training and support, and ensures systems security.

Finance and Business Services

This function provides leadership and support across finance, procurement, planning and performance, risk and assurance, and facilities.

Finance and procurement delivers accurate, timely and meaningful financial information and management and manages internal procurement activity and contract management.

Planning and performance leads organisational performance, business and strategic planning and provides high quality internal and external accountability reporting.

Risk and assurance operates processes to manage the EPA's strategic and business risks and manages the out-sourced internal audit function.

Facilities provides high-quality office and facilities services and leads the EPA's sustainability initiatives.

People and Capability

Leads and delivers programmes of work, policies, and processes that support the EPA's strategic objectives and underpin organisational capability, capacity, and culture. The function oversees and manages the EPA's approach to recruitment, learning and development, employment relations, remuneration, performance management, and health and safety.

Communications and Customer

Provides leadership and support in the areas of external communications and media management, corporate communications and publications, ministerial and government engagement, and information with the public through official correspondence and customer contact centre.

This is a fixed term role until 31 January 2026

The Programme Coordinator will provide project management support to the various EPA project work streams and assist in the completion of project plans. These include:

Financial management including forecasting, accruals and reporting across all projects and programmes at the EPA

Project and programme progress reporting

Engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business and project processes

Scheduling and planning to ensure key milestones are met.

Coordination and administration of Governance Group activities including to prepare preparation of meeting agendas, consolidated reports and follow up action items for the Programme of Work (PoW)

Supporting the Governance Group activities in the absence of a Programme Manager

Providing quality assurance across all projects and programmes at the EPA

About you | Mohou ake

We are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience - if you have some or all of the below, we would love to hear from you.

Knowledge and understanding of best practice project methodologies, practices, and tools

Comprehensive understanding of financial management and governance group reporting over multiple projects / programmes

User of databases, including document management or workflow systems

Highly skilled in the use of MS suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint.

Strong communication and relationship management skills to work with a range of stakeholders

Relevant professional courses/ certification; such as MS Project or Prince2 Foundations

Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand public sector (highly desirable)

This is the full salary range. Appointments will likely be made at or below the midpoint of this range, depending on skills and experience. An appointment at the midpoint assumes 100% competency in the role, with the full band covering a range of 80% - 120%.
