Job Description
First Roots Early Education Academy is currently seeking a Program Assistant (PA) to join our team.
At First Roots, the PA role is a key position within the centre, supporting the overall flow, transitions, and daily operations across all programs. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and being actively involved throughout the centre.
Position Overview
The Program Assistant supports multiple classrooms and plays an essential role in maintaining a smooth and positive learning environment. This role requires flexibility, initiative, and strong teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support classrooms across different age groups as needed
Assist with daily routines, transitions, and overall classroom flow
Help maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment
Support educators in implementing daily programming
Assist with opening and/or closing duties of the centre
Act as a designate in the absence of the Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
What We’re Looking For
Reliable, proactive, and adaptable
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable supporting various age groups throughout the day
Positive attitude and willingness to step in where needed
Qualifications
MUST be RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator)
Previous experience in a childcare setting is an asset
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Valid First Aid & CPR-C
