Professional Dog Walker – Part-Time Contractor

Lil Luka Dog Walks is looking for a reliable, caring and professional contractor to join our growing team on Auckland's North Shore.
We're a premium dog walking business that believes every dog deserves to be treated with patience, kindness and respect. We build lasting relationships with both our clients and their dogs, and we're looking for someone who shares those values.
About the role
You'll be responsible for collecting dogs from their homes, safely transporting them in your own suitable vehicle, and taking them on enriching adventures through local parks, beaches and reserves.
Most walks are enjoyed in our carefully matched small groups, with occasional solo walks depending on each dog's individual needs.
This is an independent contractor position that offers flexibility while being supported by established systems, training and ongoing guidance.
What you'll be doing
Collecting dogs from clients' homes.
Safely transporting dogs in your own reliable vehicle.
Leading enjoyable and enriching group and solo walks.
Monitoring dog behaviour and ensuring every walk is safe and positive.
Providing exceptional care while following Lil Luka Dog Walks' safety procedures and protocols.
Building trusted relationships with our wonderful clients.
Using our scheduling app to manage your daily walks.
We're looking for someone who is:
Passionate about dogs and their wellbeing.
Calm, confident and comfortable handling dogs of different breeds and personalities.
Reliable, honest and self-motivated.
Physically fit and enjoys working outdoors in all seasons.
Organised with excellent time management skills.
Friendly, professional and a great communicator.
Able to work independently while following established systems and procedures.
Looking for a long-term opportunity to become part of a supportive team.
Requirements
Full New Zealand driver's licence.
A reliable hatchback, station wagon or small van suitable for transporting dogs.
Living on Auckland's North Shore.
Comfortable transporting dogs in your own vehicle.
Available approximately 8–12 hours per week, generally between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm on weekdays.
Able to commit to a minimum of 12 months.
