The Engineer designs and develops application code, implements technical solutions, and configures applications in different environments in response to business problems. To meet the requirements of the business, the Engineer actively participates in the design and architecture of the application or its components, investigates and proposes appropriate technologies to be used, promotes re-usability of existing components and contributes to the creation of frameworks. Assists more junior members of the team and controls their work where applicable.

Need a senior person in Pune to build the team and who has understanding of TDD or writing dev cases, automated database deployment and knowledge of fabric infrastructure

Overview:
This role sits within the Corporate Bank Production Services area. You will be part of a new team providing services to CB IT application areas. This is an exciting role where you will use your infrastructure skills and background to help identify and drive improvements in the CB applications with a goal of improving the availability of service to the Corporate Bank business.
You will work as part of a small team working collaboratively across CB Application IT and Infrastructure teams to proactively improve CB applications resilience, availability, and recoverability through optimized use and configuration of infrastructure offerings as well as assisting on faster Incident resolution and improved Problem Management / Post Mortem activities.

Your key responsibilities
• Proactively assess CB applications use of Infrastructure and identify opportunities for improving resilience, stability and efficiency
• Design, plan and implement improvements associated with your infrastructure area of expertise.
• Act as liaison between CB IT and core Infrastructure teams, forming a solid network of support and expertise within the wider teams to support when required
• Engagement on Major Incident for CB Applications involving infrastructure components
• Problem Management - Permanent resolutions – 'Fix once, Fix everywhere, Fix Faster' / increase Mean Times Between Failures (MTBF) including Root Cause identification
Your skills and experience
• Database Administration level experience combining complex troubleshooting, performance reviews and assessment within an Oracle environment
• Technical knowledge and analytical skills on at least one of the following areas, Middleware – Web, Java, Weblogic, Tomcat, jBoss, Container technology, Networking or Storage
• Experience with monitoring stack
• Excellent forensic level troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Must be able to communicate and influence effectively across different technology teams with the ability to navigate complex environments across multiple geographic regions
