The Opportunity

As our manufacturing footprint continues to grow, we’re looking for a Production Planner who thrives on operational detail, enjoys partnering closely with site teams, and takes ownership of turning demand into executable, efficient production schedules.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced dairy manufacturing environment, where you’ll be responsible for building, maintaining, and executing daily and weekly production schedules . Your focus will be on optimising line sequencing, managing changeovers, and aligning production plans with available capacity, labour, and operational constraints , ensuring our yoghurt products are produced safely, efficiently, and on time.
Working side-by-side with Operations, Processing, and site Leadership, you’ll act as the critical link between demand signals and shop-floor execution, continuously balancing service, efficiency, and realism in the plan.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Execution
· Develop and own daily and weekly production schedules across assigned lines and products
· Optimise sequencing and changeovers to maximise throughput and minimise downtime
· Align production plans with labour availability, line capacity, and operational constraints
· Partner with Operations to resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust plans in real time as conditions change
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
· Track and report schedule adherence on a daily and weekly basis
· Analyse planned vs. actual production variances , identifying root causes and improvement opportunities
· Provide clear visibility of risks to output, service, or efficiency and recommend corrective actions
Scenario & Demand Planning Support
· Support scenario planning , assessing the production impact of promotions, seasonal demand, and volume changes
· Model alternative schedules to test capacity limits and operational trade-offs
· Feed learnings back into planning assumptions to improve future schedule accuracy
New Product Introduction
· Support new product introductions , trials, and scale-ups by integrating them into the production schedule
· Coordinate with Operations, Quality, and R&D to ensure trial runs are planned, resourced, and executed effectively
· Assess impact of NPI activity on existing schedules, capacity, and service levels
Continuous Improvement
· Contribute to improvements in planning processes, tools, and data accuracy
· Strengthen the connection between planning and execution through disciplined routines and communication
Skills & Experience
Ideally to be successful in the role you will have:
· Experience in a production or manufacturing planning role within FMCG or food manufacturing
· Strong understanding of production scheduling, sequencing, and changeover management
· Hands-on experience partnering with Operations in a site-based environment
· Working knowledge of S&OP / IBP execution and ERP / planning systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and performance metrics
· A proactive, detail-oriented continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drive better outcomes
