The Simple Luxe is a luxury event planning, design, rental, balloon, fabrication, and brand activation company serving Southern California and beyond. We specialize in private events, corporate events, brand activations, custom builds, and immersive event experiences.
We are looking for a hands-on Production Lead & Event Operations Specialist who enjoys physical work, organization, problem-solving, and bringing events to life from warehouse preparation to onsite execution.
This is not a desk job. This is an active, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, staying organized, driving, loading, building, preparing, installing, and being part of a fast-paced creative event company.
Position Overview
The Production Lead is responsible for supporting the full production process, including warehouse organization, inventory management, order pulling, event preparation, loading and unloading, transportation, installations, breakdowns, and event execution.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats in a small creative business and takes pride in contributing to all phases of event production.
We are looking for someone who is not only a doer, but also a thinker. The right person can anticipate needs, solve problems, take initiative, and help create systems that make the business run more efficiently.
Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management
Pull rental orders accurately for upcoming events
Organize, maintain, and improve warehouse systems
Track missing, damaged, or low-stock inventory
Ensure rentals and event materials are cleaned, repaired, labeled, and event-ready
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
Help create systems that improve workflow and reduce mistakes
Event Production
Prepare and assemble event backdrops, rentals, signage, and installations
Paint, repair, clean, and maintain event inventory
Assist with fabrication projects and custom builds
Prepare materials for upcoming events and installations
Complete repetitive production tasks with consistency and attention to detail
Support the team in bringing creative event concepts to life
Logistics & Transportation
Load and unload company vehicles safely and efficiently
Pack event inventory correctly and securely
Drive company vehicles to and from events
Transport inventory safely and professionally
Assist with event pickups, deliveries, installs, and breakdowns
Event Installation & Execution
Install backdrops, rentals, signage, props, and event décor
Execute event setups and breakdowns onsite
Troubleshoot production challenges as they arise
Work quickly and professionally under event deadlines
Maintain The Simple Luxe quality standards during every installation
Requirements
Clean driving record required
Must be comfortable driving a 20' box truck
Must be comfortable driving a high-roof, long-wheelbase Ford Transit
Truck driving experience required
Ability to lift and move heavy inventory repeatedly
Strong organizational skills
Reliable transportation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills
Positive attitude and team-first mindset
Must be dependable, flexible, and willing to take ownership
Content Creation & Brand Representation
As a creative event company, documenting our work is an important part of how we market our services and showcase our projects.
All team members are required to assist with capturing light behind-the-scenes content, project progress, warehouse production, installation footage, event setups, and finished event photos and videos.
Responsibilities include:
Capturing behind-the-scenes content in the warehouse
Documenting fabrication, production, and creative processes
Taking photos and videos during installations and event execution
Capturing finished event details and completed projects
Assisting with content collection for social media and marketing purposes
Professional photography or videography experience is not required. We will provide training on how to use an iPhone to capture photos and videos that align with company standards.
Team members may appear in behind-the-scenes content, project documentation, social media content, and marketing materials.
Uniform & Professional Appearance
The Simple Luxe team represents our brand both in the warehouse and onsite at events.
All team members are required to wear company-issued or approved branded apparel while working.
This includes:
Warehouse production days
Client meetings when applicable
Event installations
Event breakdowns
Corporate events and brand activations
Team members are expected to maintain a clean, professional, and polished appearance that reflects our company standards and brand image.
Schedule & Availability
This is not a traditional Monday through Friday position.
Our typical warehouse schedule is Tuesday through Friday, but events may take place on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on client needs.
Weekend availability is required.
Private events often take place on weekends, while corporate events, brand activations, and company events may occur during the week.
Overtime may be required during busy production periods, event weeks, and major installations. Team members must be available to stay until projects are completed.
This position is not ideal for someone seeking a fixed schedule, limited availability, or a second job that prevents them from staying when event production requires additional time.
Events are deadline-driven. When an event is scheduled, the work must be completed.

This role requires weekly onsite event work throughout Southern California. Rare out-of-state travel may be required for select projects.
