Responsibilities
The Product Development Laboratory Technician will support research and development activities by preparing product formulations, performing laboratory testing, analyzing materials, and supporting product development projects for adhesives and sealant technologies
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, product testing, mechanical fabrication, and working in a collaborative environment where attention to detail and safety are critical
The successful candidate will contribute to formulation preparation, ASTM and internal testing methods, product application evaluations, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Formulation & Laboratory Testing
Prepare batches of defined formulations using various laboratory mixers and equipment
Follow established ASTM and internal testing methodologies to evaluate adhesive and sealant products
Perform product analysis and testing while accurately documenting results
Record, organize, interpret, and communicate experimental data and findings
Support product development projects through hands-on laboratory experimentation
Product Testing & Fabrication
Prepare test specimens and samples according to established protocols
Fabricate materials and fixtures needed for product testing, application evaluations, and customer demonstrations
Safely operate basic power tools, including:
Drills
Saws
Routers
Other workshop equipment
Support application testing and product demonstrations as needed
Safety & Laboratory Operations
Follow all laboratory, workshop, and environmental safety procedures
Maintain compliance with safety requirements and laboratory best practices
Support laboratory organization initiatives, including 5S program activities
Maintain clean, organized laboratory spaces, storage areas, and equipment
Properly handle and store laboratory materials and products
Collaboration & Development Support
Utilize digital product development platforms to manage batches, tasks, and project activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support knowledge sharing
Participate in cross-training initiatives and help support team development
Build strong working relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders
Contribute ideas to improve laboratory processes and workflows
Communicates effectively with technical teams

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative product development team supporting laboratory testing, formulation activities, and hands-on product innovation.

Position Summary

The Product Development Laboratory Technician will support research and development activities by preparing product formulations, performing laboratory testing, analyzing materials, and supporting product development projects for adhesives and sealant technologies.

Key Responsibilities
Formulation & Laboratory Testing
