Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement & Inventory Officer to support purchasing, inventory control, production planning and cost-down activities within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on inventory management with strategic procurement responsibilities, including vendor negotiations and leading cost reduction initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring material availability, maintaining accurate inventory records, and driving continuous improvement across supply chain operations. This is an on-site role for an Australian citizen or established permanent resident of Australia. This role is filling an immediate need within the Company.

Key Responsibilities

· Procurement & Purchasing

- Execute purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders and coordinating supplier deliveries.

- Source alternative suppliers and materials to mitigate supply risks and improve cost efficiency.

- Expedite orders to meet production and service requirements.

- Lead vendor and contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and service levels.

- Identify and drive cost reduction initiatives across procurement and supply chain activities.

· Inventory Management

- Receive incoming goods physically and process Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) in the MRP system.

- Conduct regular physical stock-takes and cycle counts.

- Continuously improve physical inventory organization and storage systems.

· MRP & Production Support

- Upload Bills of Materials (BOMs) from engineering designs into the MRP system and maintain updates.

- Raise Work Orders (WOs) and coordinate the kitting of parts for limited-run and volume production.

- Prepare and manage purchasing schedules based on demand forecasts.

- Adjust procurement plans in response to supply chain constraints and feedback.

· Logistics & Shipping

- Arrange domestic and international shipments via company courier accounts (e.g., DHL, FedEx).

- Prepare shipping and commercial documentation.

- Liaise with customs brokers and authorities, where required, to support timely clearance of goods.

· Financial & Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with the accounting team on:

- Inventory, WIP, and finished goods reconciliations

- Expense tracking, COGS, and material price variance

- GRN matching and accounts payable for inventory purchases

- Project-based expense tracking and project cost accounting

· Operational Excellence

- Support continuous improvement initiatives across inventory control and procurement processes.

- Ensure compliance with company procedures and workplace safety standards.

· Additional Duties

- Perform other related tasks as reasonably assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

· Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.

· Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred.

· Exposure to vendor negotiations or cost reduction initiatives is highly desirable.

· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.

· Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.

· High attention to detail and accuracy.

· Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Standard weekday working hours (with flexibility based on operational needs)
Full-time preferred; part-time may be considered for the first 3 months

Pay: $66,976.94 – $89,822.61 per year
