Do you want a change in lifestyle?

If so, here's your opportunity!

About our District - Our mission is to make our communities better and this role will play a key part in achieving this. We are located in a tranquil area of New Zealand offering some of the best access to the great outdoors. We also boast attractive housing prices for your town, village or rural lifestyle and we are within commuting distance to larger centres.

About our Organisation - We are an energetic and progressive, values-based organisation, which is dedicated to providing quality services and facilities for our communities. We place a strong emphasis on our organisational culture, which in turn, creates strong engagement across our team. We employ people with a 'Can Do' attitude who want to work for a united organisation with a strong sense of family that is proud to serve its communities.

At STDC, we offer a proven "best place to work" environment, access to a sick leave bank, flexible working opportunities and retention incentive benefit upon four years of employment. Our team culture encourages innovation, we care about your professional development, and you will be working with an elite and motivated team of professionals.

About the Role - The purpose of this job is to ensure Te Kaunihera ō Taranaki ki Te Tonga (South Taranaki District Council): complies with its obligations under the Privacy Act 2020; raises its maturity in relation to privacy issues; administers All of Government (AOG) and other key corporate contracts (including extensions and renewals of contracts) effectively; monitors AOG and other suppliers' performance against service level agreements; and complies with its obligations under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1+87 (LGOIMA).

Do you have what it takes? - This is a busy, varied role that will require you to deal with staff across all departments to ensure we meet our privacy and LGOIMA obligations, and deal with CCTV footage requests effectively. You will need to liaise with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, the Council's Legal and Procurement Manager, Councillors and other stakeholders, as required. You will be required to participate in the development of policy and management of risk as they relate to all privacy matters. The purchasing aspect of this role will also require you to keep the Service Level Agreements we have with suppliers up-to-date and monitor performance accordingly.

About you - you are a team player with a good understanding of the Privacy Act 2020, great attention to detail, able to analyse complex information for discrepancies and inconsistencies. You will also have great people and communication skills, as well as a strong customer-service ethic. Knowledge of Tikanga Māori would be an advantage.

Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, therefore must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa. In terms of residence class visa applications, priority will be given where the applicant is in New Zealand.

The salary range for this position is between $77,220pa and $85,800pa and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
