Job Description
54blue Communications is looking for a new Print & Sign Shop assistant to join our Fabrication Division!
The 54blue Print Shop and Fabrication Division bring to life the most creative ideas and visions of our innovative Design Team. From signage and full retail build-outs for some of Canada’s most progressive businesses, to shop in shop areas and displays for some of the largest outdoor and sporting goods brands in the world. We need someone to step up and start building. If you’re creative, love thinking on the fly, have experience working with your hands and using your brain to get the most out of every day, we want to hear from you!
The successful candidate will work closely with our Print Production Manager and Design Team. Previous Print / Sign Shop experience preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Cut and weed various materials & substrates to exact sizing
Load print materials onto machines
Kitting and Packing finished prints
Shipping label creation
Manage the overall project productivity and strive towards continuous improvement
Manage the ongoing maintenance and repair of tools and equipment
Assist with the ongoing improvement of our quality assurance
Maintain the company's safety culture, promote a safe work environment and its compliance
Work with Team to identify potential risks
Execute work in accordance with the project quality standards and requirements
Manage and control project costs and schedule
Assist onsite install teams
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
Ability to read and interpret work orders
Outstanding communication, time management and organizational skills
Demonstrate experience with problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking
Experience with job task planning and organizing
Excellent customer service skills
Clean drivers abstract
Print shop experience is an asset

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
