Join QBuild for an exciting career opportunity as a permanent Principal Project Manager based in Brisbane. As the Principal Project Manager within Strategy and Planning Division, you will be a key contributor to delivering complex business improvement projects and strategy that will support the growth and sustainability of QBuild.
QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About The Role
The primary purpose of the position is to be a key contributor to delivering complex business improvement projects and strategy that will support the growth and sustainability of QBuild.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, develop and execute projects including managing project scope, timelines, budget, quality, and resources across business improvement initiatives.
Prepare key project documentation and artefacts (e.g. project plan, requirements documents).
Effectively manage project risks, issues and dependencies and effectively communicate these to the General Manager and senior stakeholders.
Manage integration across dependant projects and specialised workstreams.
Ensure appropriate project controls are in place to complete monthly reports on project progress, including the identification of impacts and escalation of decisions.
Develop clear stakeholder management and engagement plans that ensures information sharing throughout project delivery.
Build strong and effective working relationships with staff and key stakeholders.
Drive operational and business readiness for change.
Articulate the compelling change story, conceptualising the desired state and service delivery model.
Implement communication strategies and initiatives aimed at informing departmental staff, customers and stakeholders.
Manage and implement projects related to the results of the Working for Queensland Survey and departmental values.
Projects as directed by the General Manager.
