The Principal Designer is a project-based role and will, in general, work under the supervision of Engineering Manager primarily in developing conceptual plant designs for project implementation.
The tasks you'll perform
Assist with the development of man-hour budgets and design schedules for Study /EPCM estimates.
Facilitate design reviews through the development stages of the project design.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques in the materials handling industry
Contribute to engineers in trainings professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.
Monitor the progress and performance of the project design team and give input and provide feedback and support where necessary.
Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
Suggest methods to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure a high level of communication is attained within the Engineering - Design team.
Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Engineering - Design team as required.
Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
The expertise you'll bring
Degree or Diploma with focus on Design and Drafting
15+ years’ experience in a similar role with relevant industry experience.

The expected salary range for this role is $165,000 to $180,000. This range is based on the role’s job family and level and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting. Your final offer will depend on factors such as market conditions, internal equity and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
