Job Description
Responsibilities
All planning is provided
Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects such as maths, literacy, and physical education, ensuring accessibility for all pupils.
Manage behaviour effectively through positive behaviour management techniques and consistent routines, fostering a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and external specialists such as speech therapists or childcare professionals to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Provide mentorship and guidance to pupils, encouraging social development and independence.
Assist with childcare duties during school hours, including toddler care and preschool activities where applicable.
Proofread educational materials and resources to ensure clarity, accuracy, and appropriateness for the age group.
Support pupils’ emotional well-being through mentoring programmes and personalised behavioural interventions.
Qualifications
Proven experience working with children in early childhood education or special education settings.
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis (ABA), and behaviour management strategies.
Strong understanding of teaching methods for maths, literacy, physical education, and preschool curriculum development.
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external specialists.
Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special educational needs (SEN).
Experience in tutoring or providing additional academic support is desirable.
Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and behavioural challenges.
Childcare qualifications or toddler care experience is advantageous.
