Job Description
What you’ll do
Overview:
Learning Matters is looking for life-long learners to join our founding K-5 Primary School team! The role demands just three things: Love for Children, Love for Learning, and Love for Teaching. While we are a high-performing organization- passionate about serving children, we also have a strong professional development program supporting our educators in building child-centered, research-based education practices.
Reporting to: Principal, and CEO
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
a. Building and implementing the Socio-Emotional curriculum aimed towards student-wellbeing
b. Teaching (and learning with) students, conducting classroom-instruction
c. Documenting teaching practices, school processes, and programs
d. Making subject-based curriculum, learning guidelines, and session plans
e. Preparing teaching resources and materials
f. Making presentations, pedagogic breakdowns, and other materials as part of professional development, training, etc
g. Supporting the team in day-to-day functioning of school
h. Regular and timely communication with parents, sharing of student assessments and updates.
Selection Criteria:
a. Freshers or experienced teachers can apply.
b. Strong communication skills (in English)
c. Willing to work Monday-Friday, and alternate Saturdays
d. Desire to learn new pedagogic practices and implement them in class
e. Ability to reflect, discuss, and dedicate ones time to bettering education practices for self and team
f. B.Ed. (or equivalent) qualifications Preferred
g. Follow deadlines, timely communication, and proactive disposition
Skills Required:
a. Growth mindset
b. Creative confidence
c. Ability to work collaboratively and in high-performing work-environment
d. Strong documentation and communication skills
e. Comfort with use of laptop and online resources for delivering on tasks
f. Personal accountability and integrity towards work
