Job Description
Responsibilities
• Receive and acknowledge enquires from shippers/overseas agents/sales within 2 hours
• Update enquiry tracker/logistics with the received enquiries
• Negotiate rates with shipping lines/forwarding agents to ensure the best price in the business
• Follow up with shippers/agents on quotes
• Finalise RFQs for ocean freight movements
• Act as the SPOC for pricing and nominations on a pan-India basis
• Ensure space availability and resolve equipment and space problems with carriers
• Maintain and develop relationships with carriers and agents
• Develop and maintain a quoted vs converted business database to evaluate the success of pricing levels/strategy
• Coordinate with marketing executives and branch offices regarding rates and meet turnaround time for every pricing request
• Support senior staff with analysis of performance data to facilitate management decision-making
• Generate market information and disseminate the same through relevant channels to sales
• Prepare daily reports for the head of department
Requirements
• Graduate in any discipline with extended commercial education or special education in sea freight forwarding
• At least 2 years of experience in sea freight, including carrier negotiations and procurement
• Basic knowledge of MS Office and operational systems
• Established shipping company network (close contacts to carriers)
• Knowledge of operational processes
