Pre-K Lead Teacher
Job Description
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:15-3:15.
We are a Granite Steps for Quality Step 1 Center working towards Step 2.
Paid snow days, paid holidays, PTO, and two paid vacations per year.
Paid Professional Development and Planning time.
Lunches are with the kids or at rest time and are paid.
Free or reduced cost childcare for your children at either our Strafford or Northwood locations.
Each classroom works together to develop and implement monthly curriculums.
As a partner with the Children's Museum of NH, we foster a play-based environment.
We do not offer Health Insurance.
Required qualifications must include:
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Credential or willingness to obtain Credential (with our guidance).
Plus ONE of the following:
A minimum of 18 credits in related coursework, including at least 3 credits in child or human growth and development, plus a minimum of 1,000 hours experience working with children in a licensed child care program or public or private elementary school
A minimum of 12 credits in related coursework, plus 3,000 hours experience working with children in licensed child care program or public or private elementary school
Documentation of a non-expired child development associates (CDA) in center-based programs awarded by the council for professional recognition;
A credential from a teacher preparation program accredited by MACTE
Five years as a licensed family child care provider with no enforcement actions imposed by the department
Successful completion of the New Hampshire Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program
A minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program, documentation of successful completion of a 2-year vocational course in career and technical education with an additional * credits in related coursework
Documentation from or on file with the department that the individual working as a lead teacher qualified for and was employed in the position of lead teacher on or before November 6, 2017, with no break in employment as a lead teacher
Teachers currently Associate qualified, working toward Lead Teacher qualifications may be considered based on education and experience.
