The Accounting Specialist, reports to the Manager, Finance Accounting Canada and is responsible for providing support on period-end closing activities, general accounting, with a focus on cash management, finance transformation and compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Review and monitor daily cash positions
Maintain accurate financial records and transactions and ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations and company policies
Additional resource to support managing Deduction levels
Cost avoidance behind Double Dipping project
Support the timely production and submission of statutory and internal financial reports for payroll, tax, risk management and other regulatory bodies as required.
Support annual external and internal audit schedules, internal coordination and documentation for timely and successful audits
Support accurate completion of financial reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, yearly) in accordance with Company accounting standards
Support regional month-end close activities, perform reconciliations, and variance analysis
Focus on continuous process improvement to increase effectiveness and efficiency
Collaborate with the other finance departments to support overall regional goals and objectives. (Ops Finance, ISC, Commercial).
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree Business Administration/Commerce with concentration/major in Accounting or Finance
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize department’s work in a dynamic environment
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Strong technical, analytical and systems skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel is a must.
Experience with SAP and OneStream is an asset.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
Self-starter, ability to work independently

Compensation Package: $52,600.00 - $70,200.00 . CAD annually
