As a Senior Video Editor in the political arena, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering our political message through engaging and impactful videos. You will work closely with our communications and campaign teams to create persuasive video content that resonates with our target audience and helps drive our political goals. Your creativity, attention to detail, and technical expertise will be essential to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production: Conceptualize, edit, and produce high-quality political videos that align with our campaign's messaging and objectives.
Collaboration: Collaborate with political strategists, campaign managers, and content creators to develop video concepts that support our political initiatives.
Message Delivery: Craft compelling and persuasive narratives in video format to effectively communicate our political stance, policies, and values.
Technical Expertise: Utilize advanced video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) to edit, color grade, and add visual effects to videos.
Sound Enhancement: Ensure high-quality audio, including adding music, voiceovers, and sound effects, and maintain synchronization with video content.
Quality Assurance: Review and enhance video quality, resolution, and format to ensure optimal playback across various platforms.
Project Management: Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and projects align with campaign timelines.
Feedback and Improvement: Provide and receive constructive feedback to elevate the quality of our political video content continually.
Political Awareness: Stay informed about political trends, issues, and campaign strategies to create relevant and timely video content.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in film production, video editing, communications, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a video editor with a portfolio showcasing political or advocacy-related work.
Proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
Strong storytelling skills with a deep understanding of political messaging and strategy.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a political campaign team.
Knowledge of video codecs, compression, and export settings.
Experience with color correction and grading techniques (a plus).
A passion for politics and a commitment to the organization's mission and values.
