Job description Company Description South West Construction Academy, located in the City of Bristol, is an award-winning training provider that delivers training to plumbing, gas, and electrical apprentices, including on-site assessments. We focus on providing high-quality education and practical training to develop skilled professionals in the industry. Role Description An excellent opportunity to be part of the SWCA apprenticeships team. • Providing training and assessment to apprentices • Deliver EPA training to apprentices • Be fully engaged with the Centre Mission and Values, ensuring that these are at the heart your working practice. • Be a role model to others, this requires a commitment to and demonstration of the positive behaviours seen by the Centre as being essential in supporting our Mission and Values. • Monitor student progress; update central tracking and carry out reviews with student employer every 10 to 12 weeks. • Monitor students’ Off the Job journals on Moodles • Set targets and monitor students’ progress on their Personal Development courses on Moodles. Core Responsibilities • Deliver a high-quality level of teaching to apprentices. • Liaising with the other members of the department to facilitate efficient assessment processes for learners • To plan, design and deliver assessment programmes/sessions and facilitate learning in line with course aims, objectives, mode of assessment and accreditation. • To monitor, evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of assessment processes, sessions, and own practice. • Be willing to travel the Bristol and surrounding area to cover site assessments if required. Qualifications Essential • Have a level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Plumbing Heating (i.e. equivalent could be Advanced Craft) • Be Flexible and responsive to working arrangements • Participate in mandatory training (safeguarding etc) Desirable • PTLLS • An assessor award qualification • Hold current ACS in CCN1, CENWAT, MET1 CONGLP1PD • Unvented Hot Water Systems • Water Regulations • Experience of training apprentices If any of these are not held already, then we will enrol you onto the necessary course. Work Skills This role is open to professionals with assessing experience but also those wishing to get into education to help develop and nurture the next generation of plumbing gas professionals. Remuneration • Salary up to £38,000 • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays • 35 hours a week • £2,000 market supplement annual bonus • Small groups of learners • Based in Bristol BS4 • Salary sacrifice bike to work scheme available . • Salary sacrifice enhanced pension available on request . Work Week Hours per week: 35 Days Core hours: Monday to Friday 08.00am to 4.00pm 4 days teaching, 1 day prep.
