Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Schedule personnel, tools and equipment. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Utilize hand and power tools. Prepare and maintain work materials and supplies. Measure and mark guidelines to be used for installations. Determine layout and installation procedures. Professionalism in customer service. Personal suitability: Client focus.
