Job Description
Planning and Design Lead. (Automated industrial railway system for Port operation)
Role & Responsibility: -
1. Responsible for the planning, design, and development of railway infrastructure for handling shipping Containers (20Feet/40Feet) and other breakbulk, Finished Goods (Billets/Ingots) etc.
This is an industrial rail network (within our battery limit) that starts from various Production Plants and runs up to Port Container yard, from where containers/ cargos are stored and loaded onto seagoing vessels. The entire cargo handling operation shall be an automated system with minimum manual interventions and designed for continuous operation.
2. This role combines the technical aspects of civil and system automation engineering for Industrial rail transport system and strategic planning from conceptualization to completion stage.
He shall also be responsible for ensuring their safety, efficiency, and compliance with relevant industrial standards and regulations.
Experience:-
1. 15+ Years experience in Actively involving with planning, Design, Execute Internal Railway system for Containerised cargo Transportation system from Plant to Port.
2. Familiar with design principles of various railway control system (Points/Crossing, Blocks, switches etc).
3. Prepare detailed design calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and proposals using industry-standard CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D).
4. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, project managers, contractors, and other agencies to ensure seamless project execution and systems integration.
5. Ensure all designs and plans comply with relevant national and international codes, safety regulations, and environmental legislation, conducting thorough risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
6. Participate in the testing and commissioning phases of rail systems to ensure they meet operational requirements and design specifications.
Qualification:- Bachelor of Civil Engineering /Mechanical engineering + Master in Transportation Engineering.
