Work as part of the mental health team, including on-call coverage requirements as part of a rotation with the other psychiatric treatment providers

Care for the psychiatric needs of mentally ill offenders located across the state in-person and via telehealth for rural locations
Actively participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team including other psychiatric medication providers, psychiatric nurses, mental health clinicians and medical staff
Identify, assess, and respond appropriately to those with mental health disorders, symptoms associated with drug and ******* use, and suicidal inmates
Prescribe Schedule II-V drugs as appropriate in accordance with departmental standards, State licensing requirements and prescriptive authority by the Alaska Board of Nursing or the Alaska Medical Board

Job Description The Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services, is recruiting for a Physician Assistant/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse 1 located at the Anchorage Correctional Center (ACC) in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:

Under the supervision of the Chief Mental Health Officer, this position will:
• Care for the psychiatric needs of mentally ill offenders located across the state in-person and via telehealth for rural locations.
