Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist / Medical Clinic Lab Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting medical clinic laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of samples, and providing excellent patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to perform phlebotomy when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and processing of laboratory specimens for analysis
Perform routine medical clinic procedures including:
Phlebotomy
Urinalysis
Nasal/throat swabs
Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
TB skin testing
Minor dressings
Suture/staple removal
Vital signs
Maintain accurate records of tests performed and results obtained
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Support patient care by assisting with sample collection, including phlebotomy
Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding specimen requirements and test results
Participate in quality control measures to ensure the reliability of laboratory results
Maintain vaccine inventory and log fridge temperatures regularly
Participate in reception desk duties including scheduling and booking appointments
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in medical terminology and OHIP lab billing codes
Must be able to perform phlebotomy safely and effectively
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50-$1+.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week

Flexible language requirement:

French not required
Schedule:

8 hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
