About the Scholarship
Higher Degree by Research (HDR) project “Electromagnetically driven flows in electrolyte layers with free interfaces”. Funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC), this theoretical/computational project aims to understand the properties of electromagnetically driven flows in thin deformable electrically conducting liquid films and layers by means of their nonlinear stability analysis and numerical simulation. It expects to develop an analytical description of electrolyte flows required in various microfluidic applications such as magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) micro-stirring and micro-pumping.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will:

Hold an equivalent of 3 years Bachelor + 1-year Honours or Master Degree or 4 years Bachelor Degree in Applied Mathematics or a closely related field.
English language requirement (international applicants): IELTS academic stream 6.5 overall or higher or equivalent.
Have an experience with analytical and numerical solution methods for partial differential equations and working knowledge of Matlab and Latex.
