Pharmacy Technician Sterile Lab
Job Description
Sterile Lab Technician - Under the direct supervision of the compounding pharmacist, using aseptic technique, prepare sterile compounds according to a master formulation or compounding record with precision and accuracy. Pharmacy technicians are required to adhere to all applicable Federal and State regulations, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, and to Johnson Compounding and Wellness Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Adhere to HIPAA and HITECH Regulations to ensure patient confidentiality·
Adhere to Federal and State regulations, and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards·
Adhere to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Familiarity with pharmaceutical measurement conversions and simple pharmaceutical calculations
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, and other proportions
Ability to accurately prepare low, medium, and high risk compounded medications according to the master formulation or compounding record.
Ability to perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning protocols according to SOPs
Assists with daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Assurance activities including but not limited to temperature monitoring of product environment and cleaning protocols within the lab
Maintains pharmacy and clean room, in a clean, organized, and well stocked manner.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Active Pharmacy technician registration
Pharmacy technician certification – Preferred
General Abilities
Punctuality and reliability are a must
Ability to stand up to 10 hours
Must be able to frequently lift and / or move up to 20 pounds
Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp objects and/ or perform repetitive hand motions for a sustained period of time
Enthusiastically support Johnson Compounding and Wellness team effort by performing other duties as indicated by the pharmacist in charge including support of other departments.
Maintain a clean, orderly and sanitary workspace·
Attend all applicable staff meetings, performance reviews, and trainings as required· Complete all applicable Continuing Education (CE) as required by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)·
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
