Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and documentation of oral medications in a clinical setting. This role supports physicians and staff by maintaining medication inventory, processing prescriptions, and ensuring regulatory compliance per Arizona State Board of Pharmacy standards.
Key Responsibilities
Order and maintain inventory of medications for daily pharmacy and mix room operations
Maintain accurate counts and secure storage of oral medications per OSHA regulations
Fill prescriptions based on physician orders
Process oral medication before authorizations
Complete Foundation Assistance applications
Perform regular inventory checks and ensure proper stock levels
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Travel between AUUA offices as needed to meet operational demands
Ensure compliance with all guidelines related to the role of a Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician
Support additional tasks or site-specific responsibilities as assigned by management
Required Education & Qualifications
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – in good standing with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage last-minute changes and dynamic clinic needs
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Must regularly talk, hear, and use hands for handling or operating tools
Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
May be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, kneel, or crouch throughout the workday
Must use PPE and comply with OSHA safety requirements
Moderate noise level work environment
Visual requirements include near and far vision, color recognition, and depth perception
