Responsibilities:
• Manage the ordering, storing, and security of drugs and medicines at Venkateshwar Hospital.
• Ensure an adequate supply of medications at all times, avoiding shortages or overstock situations.
• Provide detailed information and advice about medications, including side effects, correct dosage, and proper storage to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Accurately dispense prescribed medications and ensure correct dosages are administered.
• Maintain separate records for specified medicines as per Drug Rules, and remove expired or damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
• Keep the pharmacy clean and ensure it is maintained at the prescribed temperature, complying with all relevant procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Update patient records and bills accurately, and generate reports as required.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage stock efficiently to ensure the availability of essential medications.
• Stay updated with FDA rules and regulations to ensure compliance in all pharmacy practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care and address any medication-related queries.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology with a valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Proven experience as a pharmacist, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Detailed understanding of dosage requirements, administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pharmacy software applications such as MEDITECH and Mediware.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• B.Pharma/D.Pharma with Karnataka State Pharmacy License is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of drugs and FDA rules and regulations.
