Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring medication safety, and supporting clinical operations within a hospital or healthcare setting. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise directly impacts patient outcomes and overall well-being. The successful applicant will possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care protocols, with experience working in a retail pharmacy.
Duties
Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician orders and legal regulations
Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers and patients regarding medication therapies and potential interactions
Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust treatments as necessary in collaboration with medical staff
Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, safety standards, and hospital policies
Maintain detailed and accurate medication records and documentation for each patient
Educate patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage instructions
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs
Oversee medication inventory management, including ordering, storage, and disposal of pharmaceuticals
Assist in training and mentoring pharmacy interns or new staff members as needed
Requirements
Valid Pharmacist license in BC and in good standing with the College of Pharmacy
Atleast 2+ years experience in a retail pharmacy in strongly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and patient care standards
Experience with adaptations, MACS prescribing, immunizations, travel health preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical practice standards
