Payroll Specialist
Job Description
DMLO Payroll Services is seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our team in Jeffersonville, IN.
We are looking for candidates who will demonstrate an ability to perform a wide variety of payroll assignments under the supervision of different professionals.
As a Payroll Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Processing payroll, compiling payroll statistics, recording hours of work, and calculating payroll taxes for various clients accurately and on time.
Setting up new hire information for employees including personal information and all applicable federal, state and local taxes as well as managing benefit deduction setup, retirement and employee garnishments.
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Communicating with clients on a daily basis relaying payroll information as well as answering any payroll related questions they may have.
Provide payroll related reports and tax returns for audit requests.
Filing all required new hire reporting for clients.
Maintaining strict confidentiality of all client matters.
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Education, experience, and skills we are looking for:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organization skills.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum of 2 years’ clerical accounting and payroll experience, preferred.
