About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team in South Brisbane. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid payroll experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll
Maintain employee records including new starters, changes, and terminations
Calculate leave entitlements, overtime, and allowances
Process superannuation, PAYG, and other deductions accurately
Advisory & Support
Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
Provide guidance to managers and internal stakeholders
Interpret awards and employment agreements
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, ATO, and NES requirements
Prepare and submit STP reporting
Assist with year-end processes and audits
Team Contribution
Collaborate with Finance and People & Culture teams
Contribute to team initiatives and process improvements
Continuous Improvement
Support system enhancements and automation
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes
About You Essential:
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in payroll
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Experience using accounting systems (Pronto highly regarded)
Desirable:
Experience in complex or multi-entity payroll environments
Exposure to HRIS systems
Knowledge of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Background in industrial, resources, or professional services sectors
