Casual / Part-Time | Student-Friendly Position
Nipissing Orthopaedic Laboratory is looking for a reliable, hands-on individual to provide part-time support to our prosthetic and orthotic technical team.
This position would be a great fit for a student or hobbyist who enjoys working with their hands and is interested in gaining experience in a healthcare manufacturing environment. No previous prosthetic or orthotic experience is required — we are looking for someone who is willing to learn, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working in a shop environment.
Duties may include (depending on interest and skills):
Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the workshop and manufacturing areas (machine room, plaster room, lamination/moulding room, other).
Cleaning and preparing tools, equipment, and work areas.
Assisting with basic fabrication tasks (plaster work, moulding, material prep/cutting, sewing, other).
Stocking and organizing shop materials and supplies.
Assisting our technicians with general shop tasks.
Other duties as skills and experience develop.
Opportunity to Learn
Depending on interest and ability, there will be opportunities to learn additional prosthetic and orthotic fabrication and shop skills, including working with specialized tools, equipment, materials, and manufacturing techniques.

Position Details
Casual / part-time (5 to 15 hrs per week depending on applicant’s availability)
Minimum wage or co-op placement.
Flexible hours that can work around an existing schedule.
Located at our North Bay clinic and manufacturing facility.
High school and post-secondary students are encouraged to apply.
Co-op placements may also be considered.
